It is usually of two types.
1. Do-follow Backlink
2. No-follow Backlink
Suppose when Google Crawlers visit your website or your post, they will first check the nature of the backlinks(Do-follow or No-follow) to your website. If your backlink was Do-Follow, then Google crawler will visit the external link of your website. If you have a No-follow backlink, it will skip immediately, which means your external link will not have any purpose.
